Andromed delivers electronic stethoscopes

Andromed has released an electronic stethoscope that has filtering to reduce ambient noise and noise generated by hand movement. It also has an auto-muting function that eliminates impact noise if the sensor is struck, or if the patient coughs.

New DSP card from Innovative DSP

Innovative DSP have released a new DSP card for use with audio, vibration and sonar applications. The card has signal inputs for up to 32 channels at 24 bit resolution, up to 192kHz, and 6 analog outputs at 24 bit resolution. The card uses a Texas Instruments C6711 processor.

Online structural health monitoring of bridges

Senera is a start-up company that provides structural health monitoring of bridges and tunnels using wireless transducers. Their concept is to continuously monitor the structures, with the goal of providing their customers with reduced maintenance costs, by not having to manually inspect the structures as frequently.

PCB offers 4-20mA accelerometers

A division of PCB, called IMI Sensors are now selling accelerometers, signal conditions, alarm sensors and more that provide 4-20mA signals. The signal conditioners convert ICP accelerometer signals into 4-20mA analogue signals, suitable for use with industrial process monitoring systems.

Expanding foam for noise abatement

Orbseal have released an expanding polyurethane foam that can be used to fill cavities, designed for automotive use. The foam can improve the rigidity of panels and improve the transmission loss of panels.
